I for one had never heard of Sir Marrok, one of King Arthur’s knights, who it seems was turned into a werewolf. This isn’t a new story, but is apparently traced back to a line in Malory: “….’sir Marrok the good knight that was betrayed with his wyff, for he made hym seven yere a warwolff.’…”

According to the weirddarkness.com link below, the fact that Malory just included the single line, without further explanation, tells that he knew his audience had already heard the story of the unfortunate Sir Marrok and didn’t need to be told. So where did it originate?

The story is elaborated on in a book, The Complete Sir Marrok, by Allen French (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_French), which can be read for free on Kindle at Amazon: https://tinyurl.com/5ae8f2t8
