Derwydd Mansion – showing the shield that is said to commemorate Tudor’s little sojourn in 1485. From the link at the bottom of this article.

Sir Rhys ap Thomas’s Derwydd Mansion is on the market again! In a past post (https://murreyandblue.co.uk/2023/08/07/the-white-lady-should-have-disposed-of-rhys-ap-thomas-and-the-weasel-when-she-had-the-chance/) on this blog I wrote about this Welsh house and its association with Henry Tudor, when he was on the way to Bosworth. Pity it didn’t set its White Lady ghost on the miserable wretch. And the other traitors who supported him against the  lawful king, Richard III.

Anyway, going through the dates (see the link above), the house was for sale in May and August 2023, and again in July 2024 (for £1.6 million). Looking at the external photographs, it seems to me it’s in need of a great deal of attention…which is maybe why it keeps returning to the market.

If you have a bottomless coffer of gold, it can obviously be restored to its full potential, but to me that would seem like giving some sort of legitimacy to Tudor’s illegal invasion. Sorry, but once a Ricardian, always a Ricardian.
