Bah! Humbug! I’m sick and tired of reading about 14-year-old Richard II being a monstrous tyrant. This is in The Uprising, of course, which film has filled the headlines for weeks now. The chosen plot sounds so weighted that it even suggests the film’s hero was the original Robin Hood! Eh? Robin Hood was around well before the revolt of 1381.
Doesn’t anyone involved in the film remember wicked Prince John, Richard the Lionheart (aka Richard I) and the conniving Sheriff of Nottingham? Richard the First, please note! He rather came some time before Richard the Second!
So if you’re looking for historical fact, watch The Uprising at your peril.
