Boo! Hiss! So here’s more about the first Lancastrian Henry to usurp the throne of a rightful King Richard. We’re talking Bolingbroke, a.k.a. Henry IV, right? Not a long video, doesn’t reach 2 minutes, but, as usual, there’s a howler. Richard II was NOT Bolingbroke’s uncle, he was the creep’s first cousin, not brother. Bolingbroke’s father, John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, was the one who was Richard’s uncle! And what’s not mentioned in the video is that Bolingbroke murdered Richard at Pontefract.

Yes, yes, I’m on my hobby horse again. I have this thing about King Richards who were usurped and murdered by undeserving Lancastrian Henrys. The only King Richard for whom I have no time at all is the so-called Lionheart, who probably didn’t know what most of England looked like because he was never here. He certainly knew where it was, because he drained its exchequer dry to fund his crusades.
