A little later than our period, but sometimes a laugh pops up out of nowhere and I have to share. I was looking through catch-up TV and came upon the following blurb for an episode of the Royal Palaces series:

“…Versailles is one of the most enormous and impressive palaces in the world. Louise XIV built it in 1634 as a way of controlling the French aristocracy…” (quite apart from the chronological anachronism).

LOUISE?????? So that explains the high heels and elaborate wigs! 😆

    Honestly, are these people for real?
    They’re the ones who are supposed to know what they’re talking about, when in reality we amateurs know far more!
    Maybe it’s because we just love history, and not because we get paid for our so called “knowledge”.
