Well, where Magna Carta was supposedly signed, because the actual site isn’t known. All the Magna Carta itself says is that it was Runnymede, which is an area rather than a single precise spot. However, the island that’s for sale is awash with legend and references to 1215 and Magna Carta. And I have to say that even without the history, the house and its setting are absolutely gorgeous.

According to Country Life magazine (https://shorturl.fm/W1OSm) it’s: “…..a very beautiful home in a charming part of London’s outskirts, pretty and characterful, with four acres of gardens and several hundred feet of river front which could allow you to navigate all the way into central London…..” The house wasn’t there in 1215, of course.
A linked site (https://www.waterview.co.uk/property-for-sale/house-for-sale-in-magna-carta-lane-staines-upon-thames-tw19/16747) says: “….A unique opportunity to purchase a truly historical home [Magna Carta Lane] on a private island on The Thames within nearly four acres of mature gardens, the house incorporates the charter room where the Magna Carta is believed to have been signed….” and “….Magna Carta Lane is located at the end of this quiet tree lined approach amongst only a handful of other houses, close to Windsor…..”
All you need is £4.5 million!
