The above link takes you to the whole story.  It concerns King Harold II aka Harold Godwinson, my other favourite king, who had a lot in common with his descendant, Richard (see my previous post regarding this).

They appear to have located the home of the king, often suspected of being based where the current Manor House is sited. One of the identifying factors was that it had an indoor latrine, which was becoming fashionable at the time, so a house with an en suite makes it a good candidate as Harold’s home.

My impression of Harold Godwinson

He was thought to have a home in Bosham and may have been born there, but there was no concrete evidence before. There are two depictions, supposedly of Bosham on the Bayeux Tapestry. one is this one of Harold visiting the church at Bosham and Harold feasting there…

Bosham Manor

Bosham is one of the candidates for Harold’s burial place. William apparently said he should be buried facing the sea. That might not rule out Bosham as it is on the coast.
