Gloucester Cathedral invites us to see its Christmas celebrations….

from gloucestercathedral.org.uk

Gloucester Cathedral is one of the most beautiful of our cathedrals, and to visit it at Christmas is a very special experience. Once again this year it will be welcoming visitors to enjoy its Christmas decorations and atmosphere, an to absorb the meaning of the season. If you wish to visit it this year, go to this link: https://gloucestercathedral.org.uk/whats-on/cathedral-christmas-experience-at-night-14-dec-24

6, 7, 14, 19, 20 and 21 December 2024, 5.45pm-8.45pm (last entry at 7.45pm). Tickets: Adult: £8, Child (6-17 years): £3

And see the same link for details of their intriguing “unwrapped” tickets, which offer a “….unique opportunity to peek behind-the-scenes of this remarkable building, with access to either the iconic Cathedral Tower or the candlelit medieval Library….” I don’t have a head for heights, but would love to see the medieval library!

  1. It’s generous that they allow dogs in during the day in accordance with their policies.

  2. Stunning! Though its interesting to see how “Pagan” has over the centuries, become “Traditional” with the bringing in of the Green indoors in Midwinter! Love the photos, especially the Cloisters…
