Professor Thornton is still insisting More is the Irrefutable Authority on Richard III….!

If you go to this link https://huddersfieldhub.co.uk/university-of-huddersfield-to-launch-public-lectures-with-talk-on-the-national-health-innovation-campus/ you’ll see that on 12 December 2024 at the Daphne Steele Building of Huddersfield University, Professor Tim Thornton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, is to give a “….talk about his research into King Richard III and ‘the princes in the Tower ’, one of the most famous and notorious missing person cases in the country’s history….”

Unfortunately, Professor Thornton’s claims of “new evidence” are somewhat dubious and misleading, because everyone already knew it all and had discarded it for the nonsense it was! Well, I mean….he’s relying on More for his information! Good grief, professor, you need to do better than that to prove a single word. See here https://mattlewisauthor.wordpress.com/2021/02/07/the-more-i-read/, here https://murreyandblue.org/2021/04/26/how-trustworthy-is-thomas-more/ and here https://murreyandblue.org/2021/06/29/no-professor-you-dont-have-proof-of-richard-iiis-guilt/. One fact is certain. If you believe More, you’ll believe anything! That vile man was not saintly.

But if you want to hear Professor Thornton preach about it again, toddle along to the Daphne Steele Building on 12 December.

  2. I think More was saintly but he wasn’t writing history. He didn’t even begin the book with the correct dates. That must have been a deliberate error. I think he was writing an allegory of the Tudors. In any case he never published it. Why?

    1. I can’t agree about the saintly bit, but the answer to why he didn’t publish it might be up there somewhere. 🙄

  3. OMG! When More is the only shot left in the locker it really is time to strike your flag. His account has numerous, provable factual inaccuracies.
