Richard III, one of the five greatest medieval kings of England….

Um….it took me a while to latch on to what this list https://tinyurl.com/4ejwhhy5 is actually about. It concerns the kings who changed England the most rather than the greatest kings of England. Which is why poor old Richard is in there, presumably for inflicting the awful Tudors on us. But I’m sure he didn’t mean to do it.

As the author of the article points out, the list is according to one’s point of view. Indeed. And my point of view is that the inclusion of “greatest” confirms what I and all Ricardians have always known: Richard III was a great king!

  1. Richard II truly changed the face of England by a law that effects every village, town, city and even roads all over the country that has left it’s mark even today. In 1393 law made it mandatory for pubs and inns to display a sign, which helped to identify them and regulate the number of drinking establishments and as an aside The White Hart is still the 4th most popular pub name in England.
