You know what they say…as above so below? Well, not in the case of this Cambridgeshire cottage which is for sale at £425,000. While I love the “above” part…the “below” gives me the jitters! So my £425,000 is safe.
“….Steps lead from the kitchen to a good-sized basement, where you’ll find a trap door leading down to the vast underground tunnel. [There’s a video, to be sure your heebie-jeebies are kept on the boil!] It’s believed that the tunnel was built when Henry VIII created the Church of England and was used by Catholics and Protestants as an escape route when people of authority visited to avoid persecution….”

The tunnel is part of a network that includes several other properties, and they all converge in a meeting room. Now, it says above that this network was used by Catholics and Protestants when the Church of England was created. Let’s face it, both sides were as bloody-minded as each other, so I can’t imagine they all sneaked down there politely together!
Anyway, I should NEVER have watched that film set in the Paris catacombs! It unnerved me something awful. And I watched it alone! Big mistake. You can read about it here Film Review: As Above, So Below – Blasphemous Tomes. There is a very creepy Templar/crusader knight for one.
