For anyone who, like me, is interested in the Mortimer Earls of March (who so nearly ascended to the throne after Richard II), there is a newish blog that is very informative. Instead we had the first of the Lancastrian kings. Yet again I find myself thinking, “If only…”

  1. I liked the reference to Henry IV having the Glastonbury Chronicle destroyed because it supported the Mortimer claim. Too bad he missed the Westminster Chronicle – or is it significant that that one stops in 1394?
