One response to “Richard III’s Only Parliament”

  1. The author of this article, Dr. David Johnson, has several articles of interest archived by Amanda Geary from the Bulletin – one was a very sharply argued rebuttal to a 2021 zoom lecture that Sarah Rees Jones gave on Richard’s alleged strongarm tactics in 1476 (!) which is to my mind a tutorial on how to cleanly and fully refute anti-Ricardian misrepresentation.

Another Johnson article from 2021 covers Richard’s Council of the North and one from 2019 addresses the wily memoirist, one time retainer to Charles the Bold, Philippe de Commynes (from 2019). And while Commynes is of personal interest to me and I would add another 10 pages of material Johnson provides a good, working overview of an alleged ‘witness’ to the House of York.

Read all of Johnson’s other material provided by the Society, it’s a resource not to be missed.
