The New Murrey and Blue blog

This is an interesting, new collection of stamps depicting the armour of several different kings. 

As there is hardly any surviving armour from Richard’s period, he doesn’t feature, but the Tudors will be pleased – there are a few of Henry the VIIIth’s and one is most peculiar.  Perhaps those in the know can tell me what the weird appendages are in the second one on the bottom row.
