I have a liking for deliberately misinterpreting what someone else has written, and the headline of this article Who has held the title of Princess of Wales throughout history? (msn.com) is a prime example. Blimey, thought I, somewhere there’s a very, very, very old royal dear who has survived all these centuries….
But that’s just me. The article lists (and illustrates) the various ladies who have been Princess of Wales over the centuries, including Anne Neville (see above) who held the title for the brief period of her marriage to the seemingly disagreeable Edward of Westminster, son and heir of Henry VI and Margaret of Anjou.
Anyway, it’s interesting to go through the various illustrations to see the ladies who’ve been honoured with the title.
