
Knightstone Manor in Devon is a 14th-century house with connections to Thomas Grey, 1st Marquess of Dorset, among others. You can read about it here.
Well, it may indeed be 14th century, but to me it’s been so “got at” that it now looks modern. Externally, anyway.

On the other hand, beautiful Haselbech Hill House (here) in Northamptonshire is Edwardian, but looks much older!
It just goes to show that if you can’t tell a book by its cover, you can’t tell a house by its exterior either.
